Modena Balsamic Vinegar is made in this Italian region by cooking white grape must of the Trebbiano variety which have a high sugar content. Finally it is turned into vinegar and is aged in different types of cask: oak, chestnut, cherry, ash and mulberry wood. It continues this process for various years until it becomes a dark, almost black, sweet, concentrated vinegar.
The use of the term “balsamic” dates back hundreds of years due to its former use as a remedy for illnesses of the time.
It is the most renowned vinegar worldwide, essential in every kitchen. It is dense, with a distinct, penetrating aroma, complex and pleasantly piquant. It has outstanding bitter-sweet balance.
It makes any salad into a delicatessen dish. Surprise yourself when you use our Modena Balsamic Vinegar as a dressing for your most traditional salads or try to bring a touch of modernity to other more sophisticated ones, such as seafood salads. The flavour is so subtle that it heightens and pairs beautifully with fruit (such as strawberries), cheeses (mature, goat’s) and with desserts (ice creams, chocolates…). Try preparing a simple reduction by simmering this vinegar over a low heat and adding it as an accompaniment and decoration for a mi-cuit foie gras or a tempura of vegetables and fish.
This bottle incorporates a specially designed practical vinegar pouring spout.
